Have you ever asked yourself, how does divination work? First off, if you’re asking that question, congratulations, you’ve taken a big step on your own personal journey. Secondly, divination doesn’t work the way most people think it does. Like most things in metaphysics many of us have a distorted view of the reality behind it. Finally, the reality behind how it works is actually much more liberating than our misconceptions.
How does divination work? – common belief
As a people we have an unrealistic view of how divination works. This is do to superstition and the media’s portrayal of it. To start with, the common understanding of divination is based on a fatalistic outlook. Fatalism is the belief that events are inevitable and outcomes are unavoidable. This misleads our questions. Causing us to view challenges we face as external events rather than internal ones.
How does divination work? – my experience
When I initially began to explore divination, I obviously operated on the template of common belief with a sense of natural skepticism. Then it transitioned into this materialistic, psychological view point established in materialism. Eventually, as I delved deeper into it, this mystical inexplicable dimension began to evolve unintentionally and inexplicably. The following quote is a good summary of what I’ve personally encountered.
“Tarot helps us look within ourselves to understand our emotions, the reasoning behind our words and conduct, and the source of our conflicts.”
In essence, divination, in my experience, is about giving us the ability to see possibilities. In other words, with external means we are able to look within ourselves to see what our role is in making these possibilities realities occur. Given this information we can then make choices that make desirable outcomes more probable.
Divination works on a practical front by operating as a mirror for our consciousness and on a mystical front by allowing us to potentially hack reality with the information we obtain about ourselves.
